As has been my tradition every January here on the blog (or on my Instagram), I've been sharing what I consider my favourites for the year. These are images that may not be the most technically perfect but the ones that brought a different and/or unique kind of experience on and off site.
This edition is going to be shorter than usual because when looking through my 2022 collection, I realized that didn't take as many photos as I would have wanted to, but, along the way were some excellent opportunities to grow the craft and keep me engaged at the same time.
Apart from not shooting that much, the other major setback was when a gust of wind swept my setup off its feet while wrapping up on a shoot. The LCD screen broke, which means I cannot review my images or settings until I get it fixed.

Anyway, on to the images themselves, which is the reason you're reading this.
Let's begin at the end. I shot the bulk of my images in December. In fact, I was on a rooftop on new year's eve, as evidenced by this set at KCB Tower in Upperhill showing the displays at GTC Westlands and at UAP Tower Upperhill.
A highlight was to finally shoot from atop Kough the second trip was drama-filled so I didn't get to shoot much] ...
... and a few other spots around Upperhill

I spent the in-between periods documenting the kids at school, home and outdoors. Eva & I got to experience some pretty impressive & literal wins along the way.
I started sharing my architectural photography work on the Eyeconic Media Instagram. It's been a long time coming.

I was privileged enough to be commissioned by new clients like GMP Berlin (for GTC Nairobi) and Architecture By Cedar (for their Composed Cuboid project, below) ...
... continue shooting with some old-time clients as well ...
... and try out some Halflife Composites for an architectural project.
My cityscape images [below] were featured at the inaugural Nairobi Festival in December, and subsequently at Nairobi47, a photography exhibition curated by Steve at Karakana Initiative (currently ongoing at the Kenya National Theatre).
That's that! Short, just like I'd said at the beginning.
In hindsight, I'm happy with how the year was.
It had a good share of fulfilling assignments which is continuing into 2023, with the biggest being a collaboration with Camerapix on an upcoming personal project featuring the Nairobi's skyline, something that will hopefully pick up steam in this quarter, and conclude with a showcase later in the year.
Finally, I hope to do a couple of workshops this year to share the little I know regarding architectural photography and cityscape photography, so if that's your thing, give PAK a follow and you'll get wind of that when it has finally been put together.
Blessed 2023!
Cheers, to more fulfilling collaborations.
